The 6th annual BRG Golf Hanoi Festival of 2022 has been held on October 29 and 30 with the participation of nearly 140 talented players from Vietnam and 5 countries around the world, including South Korea, Japan, the United Kingdom, France, and Singapore. After a temporary hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s tournament marks great efforts from BRG Group in boosting the golf movement in Vietnam and, at the same time, promoting the image of the capital as well as improving the quality of golf tourism in Hanoi.
The BRG world-class golf courses, designed by Nicklaus Design, and the quality of operation guaranteed by a team of foreign experts have helped players deliver beautiful and unforgettable swings. The dinner party and awards ceremony took place on the evening of October 30 at the BRG Legend Hill Golf Resort, which has just been named “Vietnam’s Best Clubhouse Course” in 2022 by the Vietnam Golf & Leisure magazine.
At the end of the day, Japanese golfer Okuzaki Masashi, 75, scored the lowest net (gross score of 151) and became the champion of the tournament. Golfer Le Thi Hong Hanh excelled and took first place in the ladies’ division. In addition, the organizers also awarded the “Longest drive” and “Nearest drive to the pin” for other excellent players. The winners were honored to receive hand-crafted trophies from Chu Dau ceramic artisans, the quintessence of Vietnamese culture with a history spanning nearly 600 years.
Sharing his feelings when claiming the victory of the tournament, Mr. Okuzaki Masashi said: “I am very happy and was a little surprised to achieve this result because, you know, the golf course here has a high level of difficulty. I am satisfied with the quality of the course and the service at the two BRG Group golf courses, which contributed to the most comfortable playing experience not only for me but also for everyone else participating in this tournament.”

Besides intense moments of competition, players also shared many unforgettable memories together. That is what Kim Byung-wook, a Korean golfer who is currently working in Hanoi and has been playing golf for more than 13 years, said: “My friends and I have competed many times at the BRG Golf Hanoi Festival. The result is not very important, because we are all very happy to play here. The weather is great, and the staff are extremely welcoming and supportive. I will definitely continue to participate in the next season.”
“Comparing to other tournaments that I played in Europe, I can say that this BRG Golf Hanoi Festival meets the top quality and the highest class in terms of organization”, stated Rachid Bounour, a French golfer living in Geneva, Switzerland. “Thanks to this event, I have the opportunity to visit your capital city for the first time ever. Hanoi has its own incredible vibes, and the most crucial thing is that I always find the smile and the energy in every corner of this city. I can’t wait to compete in this tournament next year, so I’ll be back here this winter!”
The success of the 2022 BRG Golf Hanoi Festival contributes to building the image of Hanoi golf tourism and, at the same time, boosting Vietnam as “Asia’s Best Golf Destination” and “World’s Best Golf Destination” in 2021.
As Mr. Mark Reeves, Division Director of BRG Group, emphasized, “Even though it is just an amateur tournament, BRG Group has devoted all its heart and mind to ensuring that the organization of the 2022 BRG Golf Hanoi Festival meets the most professional attitudes and qualities. The excitement of the players as well as the hyped results of this 2022 tournament are witnessing the increasing movement of golf as well as the development of Hanoi golf tourism in the future. I believe that the next edition will be full of surprises to look forward to.”
