BRG Open Golf Championship Danang 2022
is the first professional international golf tournament in Vietnam since 2015.

More than 6 years since the 2015 Ho Tram Open when the Spanish golfer and former world n°2 Sergio García claimed the victory, there have been no more professional international tournaments held in Vietnam, although in recent years Vietnam has always been selected as “Asia’s Best Golf Destination” and “World’s Best Golf Destination”.

However, at the end of this August, the BRG Open Golf Championship Danang 2022 – a part of the ADT system, will take place in this S-shaped country. This tournament is hosted and sponsored by BRG Group, a leader in Vietnam golf industry. After 22 years, BRG Group is now operating a series of 7 international-standards golf courses (127 holes) that are constantly in the top of the most beautiful golf courses in the world. BRG Group also cooperates exclusively with Jack Nicklaus Academy to open the BRG Golf Center academy system.

1. Gathering talented golfers around the world

BRG Open Golf Championship Danang 2022 will bring together 144 international and Vietnamese golfers, including 1 Pro-Am contest and 3 official rounds. The top 50 golfers on the leaderboard after the first 36 holes will make a cut and compete for a prize of USD 75,000. This will give Vietnamese golfers the opportunity to experience and get acquainted with the professionalism from this leading regional tournament.

Besides, as a tournament in the Asian Development Tour system, BRG Open Golf Championship Danang 2022 will attract the participation of talented players from all over the world, including the 2017 ADT champion and 3-times ADT winner Pannakorn Uthaipas, or the leader of the 2022 ADT Tour’s Order of Merit Chonlatit Chuenboonngam, also the OWGR n°409 Chen Guxin, along with many golfers in the Top 500 OWGR.

The best and talented Vietnamese golfers will also be present, such as Truong Chi Quan, Nguyen Huu Quyet, Doan Van Dinh, Do Hong Giang and Nguyen Van Toan, who are all in the Top 10 on the VGA Tour Money List. We can’t forget many youngsters, namely Nguyen Anh Minh, Nguyen Dang Minh, Nguyen Bao Long or Nguyen Nhat Long – they all will create an attractive tournament.

2. High-class golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus

As a first ever official international tournament hosted in Da Nang, BRG Open Golf Championship Danang 2022 will take place on the Nicklaus Course, inside the BRG Danang Golf Resort complex. Designed by the legendary Jack Nicklaus, this is the first golf course in Vietnam as well as in Asia built in the typical bulkhead style from Florida.

This par-73 golf course was adjusted to a par-72 classic standard with a length of 7,363 yards. In which, the usual 10th hole par-5 was changed to a par-4 with 502-yards length. A true challenge for golfers participating in the tournament.

In addition to the above adjustment, the grass areas on the course will also be set at standard heights: 11 mm for fairway, 25 mm semi rough, 60 mm rough, and the speed of green during the tournament days will be granted from 9 feet 6 to 10 feet 6.

3. Enjoy the 2022 Danang Golf Tourism Festival

In particular, the 2022 BRG Open Golf Championship Danang is within the framework of the Danang Golf Tourism Festival, taking place from August 28 to September 3, 2022, Including activities: an international conference on golf tourism development, activities to visit, experience and practice golf, charity activities and promotion of Da Nang tourism.
